Death
my love
we'll meet someday
till then...
the sword
Unsheathed
the glint
the sound
the swoop
the slide
the glide
My eyes
Still.
I am,
Here and now
I see
I hear
the blurred visage
the silver streak
the whooshing sound
the furious grunt
I still
the world
I
feel
my finger twitch
my neck hair rise
my throbbing pulse
my blistered foot
I'm full of life
my body shifting to the left
my robe aflutter with the move
the plume of breath, warm and wet
I am the wind, I float away
the sword ends its journey
the blade meets resistance
the slice
the sound
the coldness
