Blessed am I that I came across you
And you,
And you,
And you ...
My tormenter
My soother
My detractor
My supporter
My mocker
My backer
My critic
My helper
My friend
My foe
What am I if not your thought?
Without your thought, is there a me?
Buddha had put himself
In an exclusivity
cell
And Mohammad for years in a cave
Went to meditate
And Nanak disappeared
To an unknown place
But no one dared to stay
There, forever.
Lao Tzu said he will never tell
But, in the end, he could not help
And all the men and women of letters
And all that they have spelled
Do I really exist?
Without you,
And you
And you
And you …
I live in you,
and in he and in she
And all in me exist;
The question though is only this:
(though responses are as many
as neurons in our brain)
“to be or not to be
If I never knew you
Can I ever know me?
Or may I say the other way
As a mirror looks at the face.
Knowing is seeing how little we knew
Living is within but not without
Is it for taking that we give?
Is it for living that we live?
The question remains in our brain
And we look at it but do not see.
And you,
And you,
And you ...
