Crashing, loud, earsplitting thunder; jagged flashes sear the night,
East and West are torn asunder; will the morning ever light?
Begging me to walk away, you held my hand so tight
Mouth parched and dry, I could not cry, and prayed
Your shadowed tears I could see my Dear, silent sighs ripped through the night
My tortured soul was dark with fear and bitter tears shone bright.
It never should have been this way, my very own Heart's Delight;
Your haste please stay, and tarry a while, let Dawn set all things right.
Let morning's dew come soothe away, the fears that haunt and blight
Let playful zephyrs clear the way, let Dawn raise Hope in sight!
