Though her lips are tightly sealed
I hear her wrenching cries for help
pained
trembling
shedding water for her pain,
I whisper
"you can count on me"
I feel the pressure mount on me!
I hold her cold hand
Shivers run down my spine
I'm hit by the agony she must have felt!
My tears
I nestle her onto my shoulder
I wish again, I could've done more
but now's too late!
too much, too much! the minds a circus
some sense!
let me remain
sane
for some time
let me share myself
is it too late?
I could've sworn
I heard her say:
"Hold me,
Hold me lest I fade away!"
So on this cold and rainy day
I hold her
Oh so very tight!
I hold her, lest we fade away
As the winter finally turns to summer in the frigid north of Canada, I venture into the hills to marvel the wonderful spectacle of life awakening from hibernation. Life is a miracle best understood near death.
