Only if you had asked me, I’d’ve never have said no.
Only if you had asked me, I’d’ve said yes!
Only if you had asked me, had we been together.
Only if you had asked me, I’d’ve never said yes to someone else.
Only if you had asked me, you’d’ve
had me,
Because I’d never’ve asked you, like I haven’t till now.
Only if you had asked me, I’d’ve never’ve known the preciousness of the person I am with today.
I feel a warmth I can’t explain, try as I might
I feel a touch that makes me shiver in a nice way, I long for
I feel a completeness I would not have only if you had asked me . . .
Yet what I felt for you and leant from you makes me what I am
A woman
Who respects
Who cares
Who understands
Who loves
And it’s you who taught me to . .
Sometimes we’re jaded. Flummoxed by infatuation and love, and mistake one for the other. We live a dream and think it’s for real, and don’t want to get out of it, because it’s beautiful. It’s warm and comforting. But ‘tis only when we step out of it and muster up the courage to look at it squarely, objectively, do we realize that we’re missing something. It’s when you find someone who can finish the jigsaw, are you complete. The “whole” that always guarantees a rainbow regardless of whether the sun comes out or not. What’s magical is when both parts of the whole see it . . .
