Open Letter to O. B. Laden

Bin Laden! Yes, I am talking to you. Person to person.

I am accusing you! Holding you personally responsible! Not for the bombing. Not without a shred of evidence.

I am accusing you of selfishness, shameless exhibitionism, and fraud.

Of being number one enemy of Islam. You seem to worship your own self. Your aim is not the glory of Islam. Your aim is to be at center stage, to feed your enormous ego. If you had been aiming at the glory of Islam, you would have brought education and development to an obscure, war ravaged Afghanistan, not shame and destruction.

You are even taking advantage of the Taliban. They are not innocent babes, or even the representatives of the Afghan majority, but you know their weakness.

The Taliban are Pashtoon. They are bound like blind donkies to their tribal customs. One of the unwritten tribal laws is to defend the life and honor of your guest with your own life and honor. Pashtoons have upheld this law for centuries.

There is a story of a man whose enemy, fearing death at the hand of the man (eternal revenge is another law), took refuge with his own enemy. His enemy kept him in his house, served him and entertained him for 20 years. The guest, in 20 years, grew too comfortable, and one day, took leave to go home. As he stepped out of his host's home, the host shot him to uphold tribal law.

Again I am not upholding these tribal laws, and think they are crazy and un-Islamic.

But Mr. Bin-Laden, you are taking advantage of this. You know that if the Pashtoon have to choose between international wrath, even death and destruction, and shame at home, for giving up their guest, would choose honor over destruction. And that is what you are taking advantage of.

If you have a shred of Iman in your heart, think about it. Why are you jeopardizing so many innocent men, women and children, who have been so good to you?

The next question is about your love for Islam. If you are such a leader of Islam, you have probably read the ayah of Quran,

"la tufsidu fil arthi" transalted: do not create trouble on earth.

Islam explicitly forbids meaningless violence. Even in declared wars, Muslims are forbidden to kill women and children. Your private war is a mystery to anyone who understands Islam. Tell me who is the scholar that gave you the fatwa to go ahead and wage this war?

All the eminent scholars of our time(the real scholars, not backstreet mullahs), agree that it is not permissible to try to bring the Islamic system with murder and terror.

Hijacking planes and kidnapping

From that which is known to everyone who has the slightest bit of common

sense is that hijacking airplanes and kidnapping children and the like

are extremely great crimes, the world over. Their evil effects are far

and wide, as is the great harm and inconvenience caused to the innocent;

the total effect of which none can comprehend except Allaah.

Likewise, from that which is known is that these crimes are not specific

to any particular country over and above another country, nor any

specific group over and above another group, rather it encompasses the

whole world.

There is no doubt about the effect of these crimes; so it is obligatory

upon the governments and those responsible from amongst the scholars and

other than them to afford these issues great concern, and to exert

themselves as much as possible in ending this evil.

So when did suicide become halal? Islam as a religion, explicitly forbids suicide.

You may say, well this war, and we are doing so for the sake of Allah, and those who blow up themselves will be shuhadaa. You know you are wrong.

Attacking the enemy by blowing oneself up in a car

Question: What is the ruling regarding acts of jihaad by means of

suicide, such as attaching explosives to a car and storming the enemy,

whereby he knows without a doubt that he shall die as a result of this

action?

Response: Indeed, my opinion is that he is regarded as one who has killed

himself (committed suicide), and as a result he shall be punished in

Hell, for that which is authenticated on the authority of the Prophet

(sal-Allaahu ’alayhe wa sallam).

{ Indeed, whoever (intentionally) kills himself, then certainly he will

be punished in the Fire of Hell, wherein he shall dwell forever },

[Bukhaaree (5778) and Muslim (109 and 110)]].

However, one who is ignorant and does not know, and assumes his action

was good and pleasing to Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala), then we hope

Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala) forgives him for that which he did out of

(ignorant) ijtihaad, even though I do not find any excuse for him in the

present day. This is because this type of suicide is well known and

widespread amongst the people, so it is upon the person to ask the people

of knowledge (scholars) regarding it, until the right guidance for him is

differentiated from the error.

And from that which is surprising, is that these people kill themselves

despite Allaah having fordbidden this, as He (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala)

says:

{ And do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allaah is Most Merciful to you },

[Soorah an-Nisaa., Aayah 29].

And many amongst them do not desire anything except revenge of the enemy,

by whatever means, be it halaal or haraam. So they only want to satisfy

their thirst for revenge.

We ask Allaah to bless us with foresight in His Deen and action(s) whichplease Him, indeed He is all Powerful over all things.

If you really wanted to spread the message of Islam, you would have started a mass educational movement. Instead you think you can make Islam popular by blowing people up? You have only succeeded in acquiring prime time coverage for you ameteur videos, and believe me you don't flatter the camera either.

If you have sworn to annihilate America(which is another rumor about you), let me inform you, that America is not the land of infidels as you have led people to believe. There are close to 4 million Muslims in America. Much more purer, and truer in their beliefs than your deobandi followers. I am not talking about the immigrants, who have brought the baggage of their various cultures.

Iam talking about indigeneous Americans, from whom I have learnt or re-learnt my religion.

I am talking about brothers Luqmaan, Bi-Bakr, Uthmaan, Abu-abdullah of MSA, Sister Hameeda, who just left a Catholic convent to embrace Islam, the unknown white man, who asked me to give him Shahadah in a shop, the weekly conversions after Jumaah.

This recalls to my mind the Taif incident, in the life of the holy Prophet, s.w.w., when the people of Taif stoned him, and left him bleeding. At that point of time, the angel of Allah appeared and offered him to bury those peole under the mountains. At which point, the Prophet, in his mercy and hope, declined, on the hope that perhaps, some of the children of these people will become Muslims.

The sun of Islam is rising in the west. You and your henchmen are trying to stop it. But you cannot fight the will of Allah.

America will, inshallah, live long, for the glory of Islam, Ameen.
