Gleaming, glistening tears lay frozen,
on shy and curling lashes,
I've reached a vivid tombstone
of friendship, love and care.
Just a cornice of the ground,
to mark the resting place,
of all I hold so dear.
the face, the form, the features,
the voice, the loving looks.
All's so real; yet lost!
I
held a sample of the soil,
that slowly slipped away
....embraced it with my eyes;
Then the ice was broken,
the sea of frozen tears,
melt to drown my world,
and I, in that ocean,
reached for a surfing wave,
to kiss the other shore
..where your eyes closed in slumber!
This piece is dedicated to the loving memory of my dear brother, Farzan, whom we lost on 7th June 2002. He left us empty handed in many ways and the void grows evermore. Please say a silent prayer for the dear departed.
