A Crane called Benazir

This is a story about my Mothers friend ..and her crane called Benazir

My Mothers friends are a very special group of people ... each highly unique and...distinctively different from the other ; one of them (whom I have affectionately named TRC) had a problem some 3 years ago ...

You see TRC had a tendency to give her pets and servants 'innovative ' names ..the result
of this tendency was her servant being named Fauji , her dog was named Malik Bounty Khan Shinwari ( being a pure blooded Pakhtun Dog) and her 2 pet Cranes whom were named as per male and female gender , Nawaz and Benazir respectively , love birds in the truest sense of the word .

( an unfortunate byproduct of all this nick naming was her daughter ending up

being named Maulana accidentally ...but that’s a story for another day )

Now as fate would have it Bounty Khan was the house hold's Intelligence cum harrassment chief ( although to his defense his bark was much worse then his

bite ) ..and one day he just went too far ..scaring poor Benazir to fly outta the house. You would figure that would be the end of the story ..wouldn’t you ... Bounty Khan having achieved absolute power ?

..but Nawaz wouldn't have it ..and he proceeded to make as much noise as a crane could make, desperate cry for his lost love ..the uproar in the house was so much so ..that the Head of the house TRC had to bring Bounty Khan to heel ..and send Fauji the servant after Benazir .

'Twas a strange sight if you can picture it , Fauji going to different houses in a posh locality in Peshawars sub urbia. Asking house owners and servants alike if they had seen Benazir , and probably hinting to them to tell her how sad and lonely Nawaz was feeling .

Benazir was never found ...that was 3 years ago .TRC has moved on , coping with the loss very well thank you .To be honest TRC brought in two Ducks ( named Gandhi and Nehru ..both having a propensity for suicide by seating themselves right in the middle of the drive way ) to fill in the vacuum at the house; Bounty Khan has since learnt his lesson .

but whenever I think about it ...Benazir running away from Fauji and the whole

story ..I wonder , do you think old Benazir the crane knew something we all didn't ?

The story is based on true events that occurred in Peshawar 3 years ago__any similarity between this story and real events probably shows that those other people are the ones who need to be sued because this happened before them.
