Artists: Aaroh

Recently attended an Aaroh gig at M Live, where they informally previewed their upcoming album, titled Sawaal. For those who are ignorant of Pakistan`s music scene, Aaroh is a rock/eastern classical fusion band comprising of four talented individuals who came into limelight after beating a number of talented (e.g. Mekaal Hasan Band) and not so talented bands (e.g Aks) at the (supposedly rigged) Pepsi sponsored Battle of the Bands competition in the summer of 2002. Aaroh`s upcoming album features a number of fusion rock/classical songs alongwith some heavy duty ballads. While they manage to pull off a few songs from their album quite spectacularly such as Aag Ki Tarah, Sawaal and Dil Ki Dunya, the rest are more or less one endless monotony of similar sounding guitar solos and romantic, sappy lyrics.
