One Wall

One Wall

Hidden in silence
Surrounded by one wall
As it wraps around me
I wonder if I made the right call

I try to focus
Though on which part of round do I stare?
I chose to have it so simple
But now I live in despair

I have traveled so far
Along a road I did not decide
I was guided by others
Now and reason collide

Not all is lost
A conscience can be freed
Now my hardest challenge
To plant a new seed

Obstacles of and friends
Gather in my way
How to weave through them
Without hearing the words they say

As my time of discovery
Curves through new routes
I feel the freedom
As my new seed begins to root

My room now has corners
And windows with a view
Walls now have colours
I now offer an invitation to you

Don’t be afraid
For I can help you along
Trust my honesty
You will find you belong
