A walk through fire

Eyes shut tight

Stepping on red hot coal

Mind overcomes pain

Unflinching faith

Firm step after step

The glowing embers crushed

Rendered impotent black lumps


This walk is cathartic

Faith removes pain

And I emerge purged

Cleansed and pure

And the dying embers

They set my soul aflame
