The Spell of Winter

Sep 14, 2003

Late one evening,
It came silently creeping
Like a cat closing in on prey
But the cool zephyr gave it away
Winter is here at last

The spell has been cast
Nothing will ever last
There is no where you can hide
Soon my shadow will leave my side

Winter is the ‘in’ season
Uniforms are changing for this reason
The Sun too seems distant and sets early
Even animals have started to hurry

All that was green, and the clamor and screams
Have turned to pale, and suddenly serene
Confounded, the trees shed their leaves
Baring all on the New Year eve

All the hustle has unruffled it seems
However some miss it out in sleep
Hand in hand, others walk down the street
Or make between the sheets
Here in , this spell may last only a week
