Columbia
Feb 3, 2003
Seven stars fell from the sky
And wet our glued eyes on
Television screens repeating
The Columbia is no more.
Death, be not proud, they say
As you must always win in
The end, but now we grieve for those
Who embarked on new beginnings.
Children dream of being Astronauts
Some made it from India, Israel
And many from America, Russia
Dreams should continue to fly.
Almost all religions have been
Up close to God in space flight
But we mourn
Those he kept this time.
A nation grieves
