Past
Past is my tormentor,
And memories are its spears.
Its face crevassed with ugly scars,
Dark tresses that eclipse my hours,
Piercing eyes, in hounding pursuit,
Slender fingers envelope my youth;
Looking back, always brings forth tears…
Night Was Never So Long
Night was never so long,
Hopes, never so waned.
Lost unto death’s deep valley
A face, I truly loved.
Pain was never so unbearable,
Sensations were utterly numbed,
Faith, losing its silent battle,
And courage to despair, succumbed.
Fear was never insurmountable;
But now all reason annulled;
Tears froze in onerous dread
And time to eternity stretched
Truth was never incomprehensible,
Until, destiny took its ruthless course.
The inevitable fate became fact;
No glass ever shattered with such remorse…
Night was never so long
Hopes, never so waned.
