The Dance

Jun 11, 2005
Flickering lights cascading through

They dance
Flickering lights cascading through and through

Arms spot the air
The female tresses bouncing
The men near
slide their legs in

slows
The rhythm eases
Bodies entwine and sway

She stands alone she watches
Imprinting, within her barren soul
Empty they are unaware
Empty she is and aware
It is clear

Her mind submits
Static her body
Tornado within
The stage the same

Adoring men surrounded
Friends enjoy her
Yet, she returns home alone

She drowns
Depleted and bruised
Loneliness devastating

All that was bliss now void
Her existence futile
Devoured with despair
Ponders eternal slumber
The unbearable question, does it matter?

Undisturbed,
They dance,
Flickering lights cascading through and through
