The writer muses that the concepts of water, life and love are intertwined...
Water’s silent exit from the tap
The timid splash
In blink of an eye
A small droplet
Follows the trail
With a little quiver on the edge
The curve whispers
A beloved’s song
Sweeter than plums,
Slower than sunset,
Dreams, desires, longing
All
Thunder the space
With a hungry tale
Of a long ago
Hardly forgotten
Recalled with a drop.
Razor winds of winter
Pierce already torn flesh
Burning clouds of tissues
Once so full of life
Cold numbing sensation
Of years gone by
Comes easily
Smoothing wrinkled sheets
On the clothesline
In company of old and new
Some brighter than morning light,
Some darker than a tenibrious night,
Leave their traces behind
On the moist clammy hands
Whose lines
fate has drenched
In a mute symphony
of drops.
The tiny crystal liquid
Outlines an ancient image
Of drowning words
In a sensuous melody
Of two souls
Hidden in
The silhouette of monsoon
Stealing puddles of lifetime
From the sprinkling moments
Longer than the centuries,
Quicker than the lightning,
Slither from the fingers
Dancing to an old tune
Alive and drizzling
Joy and pain
In the world again
With a drop.
