As I pointed out on unplugged, Taliban with 90% control over Afghanistan made Afghanistan the world's top producer of opium in 1999. Under Karzai, the purported "mayor of Kabul" and his govt. without an army, production of opium was less in 2002 and 2003 than it was under Taliban with 90% control in 1999 and 2000.

Its actually not bad.. In Scotland all the junkies used to die for injecting heroin adulterated with anthrax, aspertame, boric acid, glass and god knows what. They're all much healthier now and doing very well for getting so much good quality heroin these days.

Good show.. keep it up.

kaptain: wasn't the Taliban ban a result of an oversupply on the world market in the year before? I heard that after they destroyed the 2001 crop they made a lot of money selling their own stockpiles.

sadna has a fleeting relationship with facts and reality...

and thats the secret of her looking so vulnerable and so cute that any knight worth his armor would jump into action to save her from swarming hindoos

Well, Taliban made Afghanistan the world's highest opium producer before 2001 and also made 100 million dollars off this trade in 2007 so they are no angels.

Taliban had it all culled...
