Jeez... touchy, aren’t we! All I was saying was that the photography didn’t sync with the title you chose, and no amount of subjectivity-of-artist argument can change that!
Some of choose to learn from crticism, others get needlessly defensive.

but then thats the point, photography aims to show you images through the eyes of the photographer. yes, karachi is a city full of energy, but then searching out those islands of calm was the point..
frankly i find it ridiculous that you dont seem to appreciate a particular photograph because it does it gives you a fresh prespective....

Jibran,
Hmmm.. as an attempted depiction of life in the city, this exhibition is, well, middling. And I think I’m being really nice here. :-)

But seriously, it really doesn’t begin to reveal any of the electricity and chaos that best characterizes this metropolis.

But thanks for sharing, anyways. How old are you?
rgds,

nash 8,

I like your sense of humour, women in streets of karachi, dogs in a mosque, pakistani praising the abdus salam, vegetarian pirannah... keep waiting.

jibran great pictures --

btw do women live in Karachi? -- why don’t we see them in any of your pictures -- can we hope to see a few in your future ones? -- just a thought....

its a funny thing, i posted these pictures i think at least 6 months ago, had given up on them really.
i think its justified that so many of you feel that a lot of karachi has not been potrayed; i never got round to uploading the whole set, hopefully, ill do that soon .. so watch this space
till then

Jibraan: nice of you to try and capture everyday things but even everyday life in karachi has its own unique qualities. As Rida mentioned, halwa poori on Sunday would be good as might be Frere hall ka book bazaar or the evening queues at the doodh ki dukaans (for some reason they’re called Nagori). There are enough points of individuality for you camera to comfortably revel in them. Enjoy!

You are missing a couple of very interesting places here....a snap of people lining up in front of the halwa poori stall on a sunday morning would have really been a good addition here. You could have perhaps reduce the number of railway stations and instead should have added a bus stop and atleast a rickshaw......the true taste of Karachi. :)

Not so good except one or two.... not even a single one is well composed...it also seems as one just keep on clicking the camera from a car .... not so good to be displayed at chowk...

Very good, a picture is worth a thousand posts. The rotting and decaying state of the karachi rly station is surprising.
