Physical Immortality
In a recent interview, Christopher Lee, Saruman The White of
The Lord of the Rings trilogoy was asked, "Would you like to be
immortal, like Saruman The White?" Lee answered, "I can’t think
of a worse curse."
Immortality does seem a bit daunting and may not appeal to
everyone but a handful of adventurous souls. However, I
believe, many, more so than those who’d choose immortality,
would be amenable to choosing a time of their departure from
this world (instead of events beyond their control like infirmity).
