i don’t know, from a purist’s point of view, I’m not sold on the idea of a novel summary... read shakespeare in abridged form at school and never figured out what was so wow about him... confirmed my preconceptions that it was all just humbug, even led me to compare his plots to bollywood movies...
and A Portrait of a Lady has got to be among the best novels I’ve ever, ever read. Beautiful language, decent plot, great situations and some amazing passages.
I didn’t realise Suitable boy came in parts??? Don’t you just keep reading through a book until you’ve finished, then read the comments again, compare your instant review, then go back to the front, read the preface/prologue/intro if you haven’t already, check the publication date, the photo/art credits, and then lapse into a nice wondering state... just wondering. and feeling good.
