Some timeless tidings

Posted: Jan 17, 2005 Mon 02:57 am     Views: 65

It is always refreshing to come to work after a long weekend. We plan that we will go out on a picnic and more often than not, the plan fizzles out. But then we get to picnic at home, at least this time we did - let me see - this is what we did
1. for instance we watched Chokher Bali and Raincoat, (Devgan is great in the latter, Aish was better in the latter. I wish i knew Bangla then i cud read all those wonderfully rich bangla novels. I have a English-translated novel of Rabindranath Tagore’s Gora - i did not like whatever i was reading (this was more than a year back) and i am kinda blaming it on the translation though i might be wrong)
2. we brought couple of ice-cream packs home, (and devoured them, of course)
3. we went VCD hunting to couple of music showrooms, got couple more for our collection (our collection constitutes the oldies from Directors - Bimal Roy, Hrisida and some of the famous English movies)
4. we talked to this Interior Design person for our modular kitchen
5. we watched Friends and a bit of Jhankaar Beats (btw, there is nothing interesting that comes on TV *and* talking of Friends, i am with Jen Aniston and hope Brad and she resolve whatever is/are their differences. I liked the way they said we are still friends and loyal to each other, i know they have announced their separation, but they should be brave hearts to state whatever they did. I feel unke relationship mein kitnee gehrai hie, kitna dard hoga. Well i just hope they make up)
6. we even bought me a pair of trousers - Cargo (btw, i get my salwar suits from the tailors’ next week and i also have a coupon for Shoppers Stop)
7. i tried reading a bit of the Dickens novel, in fact finished quite a bit - well at least 50 pages.

This is apart from the regular chores of cooking and eating, and cleaning and grocery shopping. (With Rahul around, there is this extra bit of setting right that i do of our rooms and what i call ’Rahul ki gaddi’). There is sometime in the afternoon when the rest at home are enjoying their siesta - this is the time when all is peaceful and i have my time to myself. I have started enjoying this. This is when i get to dream or plan or read or go through my trinkets or albums. I am not sure though if time glides past me or i glide past time. It is a peaceful feeling, so calm and soothing.
