CelluLoid or CelluVoid

Watched Ankur the other day on TV. Wonderful movie, one of those which i can see any number of times:-)) Deven Verma and Sanjeev Kumar have done a helluva job. Hmm others that almost hit this category are Khoobsurat, Chupke Chupke and Baton Baton Mein. In fact we were watching Suhaag in bits and pieces and in the night on TV the news of her death was aired. It was very sad to know about the death of Parveen Babi. She was diabetic and with gangrene on her leg, why didnt she call the hospital or something?? I realized suddenly that being alone is the worst punishment one can get(is it not?). She was schizophrenic too and guess her mother died a couple of years ago. It is a known fact that families where any member is schizophrenic are almost always in a living hell. And such people (schizophrenics) need regular and tender care, from friends and families. It is sad that so many actresses die such sorry deaths, what keeps her apart from the rest is she did not commit suicide like other starlets/actresses did (the latest was Nafisa Joseph). In spite of her schizophrenia, Parveen was *mentally* strong. I hope some of her friends from the film industry do some retrospection, (not one friend with who could share some of her time?). Couldn’t they have at least been casual acquaintances to her? Could they have made a difference to her? I know it is a reactive approach, but we should take this as a learning, all of us are humans and we need to be there for each other. Life offers us chances, death offers none.

Jeete hien shaan se, marte hien shaan se.... ??

Well, on the brighter side Sania Mirza made us all proud:-) She seems to be a courageous girl. I did not watch the match, however playing against Serena W with a 6-1 in the first set, and giving a fight in the second set (6-4) is saying something. We definitely have to watch out for this little woman!! Kudos, Sania.
