WE WERE FRIENDS!

Posted: Jan 25, 2005 Tue 06:01 am     Views: 67

Three of us. During one of the exams, i decided to drop a paper, wasn’t sufficiently prepared for it, n didn’ want to cut a sorry figure on the day. One of the other two, who actually shared my flat tried to muster up my courage, suggesting that trying to drop a paper isn’t afterall a very good idea. But I had decided, and asked him not to worry about me, and carry on with his preparation. He was actually a bit ahead of me when it came to academic brilliance, and so was looking forward to put up a good show on the day of the exam. Carried on with his memorization process, but not for long. And in the end decided to the quit the paper also, saying "Tu nahin chal raha tau mein bhi nahin jaa raha". I tried my level best to entice him up, coz i knew he is easily gonna make it thru, but my efforts went vain. Khair, we never showed up on the day. The third one, who lived at quiet a distance from us, haven’t had any contact with us since we made that resolution, Actually we abstained from doing that coz we know he won’t take much time changing his mind either. Anyway, he turned up on the exam date, never to find us. Khair, he sat in the hall, and started qorking on his answer sheet. Easily managed through almost 70% of the exam, answered the questions, but couldn’t hold it back any longer. Drew lines across all that he had written, cancelled the paper, n quit! We all re-appered in that paper the next year, i got reasonable score in it, and the one who had cancelled the paper lat year after appearing, scored the least among us three...but never complained..never had a word of regret on his lips, neither did the other one, n I never developed a guilt for having been responsible for that, was never made to!!
Whats that bond, that made us throw our personal interests at our backs...and for what? None of ud ever did any huge material good to other. its just that we shared our dreams!
Its been over a year now since one of us, hasn’t spoken to the rest! We got into a row over something, a clash of ideas basically. But he stiil happens to be in the Frineds section of my MSN list! i couldn’t delete him, n i know neither did he, nor the third one. A mere clash of ideas cannot do friends apart, at least mentally, a friend once is a friend forever.
This friendship is definitely a magnificent bliss of the Alimighty, for life wud be so empty without it!
