Today I received an invitation from Japan Telugu Samakhya-JTS for ugadi celebrations tomorrow. Complete with map, directions and even the menu. How the hell did anyone know that I’m in Tokyo. How did they know that I’m telugu and would be interested in joining their new yr celebrations. The mail mentioned a contact Satish, so I called him up.

"Internet is cool thing you know. Just be there. It’ll be fun."

"I will" I said, still unsure of how he tracked me.

Invit also says "cultural activites". I dread cultural activities. Firstly, since I grew up in north I dont know much about andhra culture. Heck I’m not very good in the language either. And cultural activities of diaspora usually centers around movies and skits by small children. Aargh!!

The more I think about it and write about it the more the urge to stay away from this. But Satish there would be chicks around, and I’m dying for company.

So time to brush up on telugu. While there’s still time...
