How enlightened!

Posted: Apr 16, 2005 Sat 06:37 pm     Views: 55

Some excrepts from The News online (Sunday April 17, 2005) story on Zardari’s homecoming.

Just look at how the government is scared of a person who according to the gov. itself is totally discredited and has no support whatsoever amongst the people. Our governments themselves make heroes out of politicians like Zaradari by such acts of brutality. Even female activists and female MPAs were not spared from the danda of the enlightened government.

All the people who are keeping mum right now should not raise any concern tomorrow if the same enlightened treatment is given to some general’s family or if some general’s mother, daughter or sister is dragged by her hair, lifted by her thighs and thrown into a waiting police car by police & army goons.

Pakistan Zindabad! ... Beghairat Jurnail Murdabad!

Naheed Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Senator Safdar Abbasi were sitting in a car (LRU 5689) in the airport parking lot and they were spotted at about 3.30am by DSP Ejaz, CIA Nawankot. He requested them to come out of the car, but they refused. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said they were not violating section 144 over which the DSP opened the car’s door and dragged Senator Safdar Abbasi out of the car. During this struggle, Abbasi’s clothes were partially ripped.

Even female activists, including MNAs and MPAs, were thrown into a police truck, with the cops continuing their baton-charge.

Police also severely beat up Uzma Bokhari MPA and she was under treatment at Services Hospital.

Strict security measures caused great inconvenience to the passengers with valid tickets for the day and only drivers were allowed to accompany the passengers. Police did not allow their relatives to go near to the arrival and departure lounges at the airports and anyone who tried to argue was thrashed and beaten up. Many families cursed the police for their attitude.
