what a start !!

What a start !!
It’s the first of January, and boy oh boy, what a start to the new year !!
new year’s eve is a night to celebrate the world over, and different people celebrate it in different ways.
some party with friends at someone’s flat with a selected circle of near ones, some pay exorbitant prices for packages at pubs and hotels, end up eating shit-ass food and fighting off the crowds on the dancefloor, and then there is the kind that just drives through the city, getting drunk in the car and picking fights and chasing women all through the night.
But as i see the news channels and papers on this new years day i realise how sad the situation has become. These are the top headlines on the 1st of January 2006 :

Its sad that in this age of terror, even celebrations are scarred, and the threat is not always from the Fidayeen terrorist looking to blow himself up, but from regular people. The people you rub shoulders with on a dancefloor, or from the guy in the car next to yours.
