... i have always respected indians and their pragmatism...here are two pieces by indians about the third test at karachi...one is a poem and a good one too which is before the test started...and the various comments after the test ended... i have recorded them here for savouring every line at my leisure...;)
BEFORE THE TEST
With the Wall at the crease
Cricket is at its ease
Akthar, Asif and Razaaq..
Are scared to death and freeze
Pakistan team feels the tight squeeze
Pakistan is blown away by the Wall breeze
Every Pakistani falls to their knees
Because the Wall is Indian Hercules....
Sachin is the pride of the nation
Where cricket is peoples’ main religion.
East, west, North and South Indian
Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Chrisitian
All unite together in true appreciation
And sing in chorus in a new celebration
Of crickets greatest sensation
"Master blaster sachin"...
The nawab of Najafgarh, Veerender
Is akin to a lion that Knows no fear
And savors the pakistanis to quench its hunger
And roars with anger at the sight of Shoaib Akthar
Killing the poor fellow and sending the ball flying all over
The doble hundred that he scored at Lahore
Was a treat to the eyes and a good start to the new year
AFTER THE TEST

Subject: Rahul’s boys beatn blue
I think its a bit of both..the bowling and the batting in the second innigs were not up to the standard atall...as far as captaincy is concerned I think Dravid should have sent in Saurav and Shewag to open the innings...And Mr. Tendulkar when will u shine next....???

Subject: Inefficiency to handle preesure by the Indian Team
There are two reasons that india lost the match today.First, we really dont have fast bowlers to threaten any batting line up. Secondly, today indian team showed that they are very inefficient to handle the pressure. Shame on Indian Team.....

Subject: Rahul’s Boys beaten Blue
This yet again confirms that that men in blue have always been ’flat pitch master blasters’. None of them could even match a little of their big blue images. Add a bit of swing and an inch of movement to the ball, that’s enough for these big boys (on flat pitches) worth 1000’s of crores to be flat on the pitch.

Subject: Karachi debacle
The debacle at Karachi raises quite a few questions, infact this was going to be the toughfest test for the new combine at the helm of Team India. I believe we got carried away by India’s wins against Srilanka and SA,Sri Lanka has been struggling of late as shown by their performance since then against New Zealand and in the tri series in Australia. The series against SA was inconclusive.Pakistan in contrast had beaten England a team which in turn had beaten the no. 1 team in the world a few months back.As this series showed Indan team is still not yet there, the huge scores piled up by Indian batsman in the first two tests on dead pitches mean nothing, they have failed the real test.

Subject: India’s batsmen highly overrated
Our media projects Indian batsmen as the best in the world based on statistics and records but when it comes to performance in crunch situations they are found wanting in skills and application. The third test was no different - Pakistan fought back bravely after being 39/6 and in the second innings their top 7 batsmen all made scores greater than 50 showing admirable application and team spirit. In contrast none of the top 5 Indian batsmen scored a 50 in the second innings! Thanks to Yuvraj\’s century we were not bundled out for less than 150. India\’s batsmen and that includes the over-rated Sachin have more money in their pockets and less heart in their games.

Hi,
I would like to same India lost once again in the same way.Not to blame rahul’s captaincy,he shud have played with a bit more responsibility.
Though Ganguy is not in good form.he atleast tried to get 30s.
With so much of depressive pressure and worse happenings,he seems to be better
thanks

every match is play to win or to lose,no team can avoide the outcome be it failure or success.Losing the series is very very sad for everyone of us back home in india yet there is the one dayers still comming on and it belongs to india. For the team composition it is ezcellent when the upcomming start shinning we will be at the zenith therefore just keep pushing on the destination is comming nearer and nearer. On Dravid captaincity he is the most capable
captain to lead the team now at this very junture,we should be optismatic here that when the indian team beat srilanka they are at number 2 in the icc ranking table.besides, i hope that we will beat the pakistan team under him when they will betouring india in a short while from now.

Subject: End of an era
India has lost the series to Pakistan, but along with this defeat I believe that the curtains have been brought down on one our legends Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Let me make this very clear that this is my opinion and many may tend to disagree to this. But the last 3 innings Sachin played, he was looking very very ordinary. Sachin at 50% of his abilities is still a good player, but that is not what we associate Sachin with. His is not the prized scalp that opponents think of nowadays.
I seriously hope that Sachin proves me wrong by playing a series of innings worth its weight in gold (not just one), else it is time we pay our homage to Sachin as one of the greatest batsman, but not the greatest currently.
To simply sum up, I found Saurav’s innings to be better than what Sachin played.

i would like to know few things from you.
1. when the pressure is on indian team, why dravid opened the innings?
2. dravid failed in using the indian bowlers in both the innings of pakistan batting.
3. He should have asked to pathan or dhoni to open the innings along with sehwag.
4. Lakshman, tendulkar like great test match players bowled for asif for lack of footwork.
totally it is a bad day for indian cricket becoz we never want to lose a test match against pak.
with u all the best for ODIs.

Indeed Rahuls boys showed tremedoues spirit in firt two test, but they lagged the spirit for third test.My point of view, our bowlers were not to their form and the bat man were under pressure.

Subject: Lack of bowling variety and discipline
I think we lost this test mainly due to 2 factors. First of all our bowlers lack the firepower, variety and ofcourse the pace. Indian bolwers bowled just at a pace of 134(max) which can be belted on most of the pitches and our bowlers mostly depend on the pitch to take wickets rather than their bowling, becoz of which we conceeded more runs even to a hitter like Afridi througout the series.
Secondly our batsmen didn’t apply them selves in the first innings after restricting pakistan for just 245.
I think Indians r in gr8 reruirement of some good quality fast bowlers who can take wickets irrespective of wicket.

Subject: Indian Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
I just want to see Sachin, Laxman & Saurav out of this team.
All 3 are now too old & fit for international cricket.
Sachin once again proved his tendency to fail under pressure & at important times. He score mainly agaist lower teams. He is the biggest hype in CRICKET WORLD.
Look at performances of Lara, Ponting, Kallis, Inzi, Hayden & COMPARE THAT of Sachin with it.
THE FACT IS KNOWN TO ALL. WE INDIANS ARE LIVING IN DREAMS THAT SACHIN IS THE GREATEST BATSMAN.
Dear Brothers & Selectors,
Please see what is reality.

Great. Indian cricket deserves it.
This is what happens when the seniors are disrespected and humiliated ( Ganguly’s case).
Its a shame that Rahul Dravid could not do anything after Pakistan was 40 something for 6 in the first innings of the match.
Sachin should be thrown out too, as the same thing happened with Saurav. BCCI should not differentiate! any takers??
And what exactly were Wasim Jaffer and Gautam Gambhir doing on the tour? Freaking out on paid holiday by BCCI for having played good cricket at domestic level?
Get your acts together ..
Indians don’t stand a goods chance at one day internationals since the bowling is average at best.

Well it doesnt affect our star batsmen, coz they are more actors than players. They will come back and star in more advertizements, endorse brands and earn millions. Subject: capataincy
Here we can see the differecne of capataincy between our DADA (saurov ganguly ) and the wall Rahul Dravid.
what dravid lacks is killer aggresion and the instinct and the shrewdness of ganugly.
pakistan 39 for 6 and how did they manage 245 inspite of that is a big big ????? ,which i guess if ganguly would have been the capatain it would not have even crossed 100.
we have no doubt about his batting abilities of rahul dravid but about his leadership skills, there comes a question??????I dont mean he is not a good leader yaa he has all the qualities of a good leader,he gets the respect he derserve from the fellow teammates and also from the opposition.but as i have mentioned he lacks the tit for tat attitute which our gangguly has in plently and that is needed on the tours like pakistan and australia

Hi,
There was a total batting collapse. During need time why can’t sachin/gangully/laxman/dravid/shewag prove that they are a great batsmen in the world? When they batted well why can’t indians? It is all fear. They are very much feared about Akthar’s bowling. Also with the mammoth target. Entire team has to be blamed.

Subject: India loosing
India lost the match on day one itself, After having them 6 down for 39 and letting them reach 245, then loosing 4 wkts.
History repeats itself,
1986 Bangalore: Pak 116 a/o on day one, 1998 Kolkatta: Pak 26/6, india still managed to loose both the games.
2005 Mohali: Pak only 39 ahead in 2nd innings with 6 wickets down, India managed a draw.
We don\’t have to support Team India because we are Indian. We should support other teams. Important thing is good cricket and cricketers.

first of all hats off to pakistan team that throughly displayed their talent in batting and bowling to some extent fielding.indians faulted in team selection that should have included one right arm paceman who could have picked up quick wickets at crucial juncture.too many left armers made things easier for pak batsmen.Balaji’s contribution in the last tour should not be forgotten.we should encourage new younger batters rather than basking in the past glory of sachin, laxman, and ganguly.we have to encourage Kaif’s, Raina’s, Yuvraj’s.

This is ideal time for some so called world class players in India team to rethink whether they have to remain in Indian team.Openly telling the selectors has to give importance to the current condition and form of the players, they should not beleive the statistics and past history.Otherwise keep on waiting and waiting for the so called world class players to perform.

Like the Australians did after the Ashes Series ,i think it is high time we brought some drastic changes into the team.If that means we have to do away with Tendulkar and laxman, so be it.
Also lets admit it, our bowling is completely toothless.we need a couple of bowlers who can bowl above 135 or 140ks.
otherwise as i see it the ODI’s are also gonna go Pak’s way.

I would say, Why don’t India stop representing in International cricket. Its sickening to watch such matches where India just plays for the heck of it.
Pls throw Sachin, Laxman out of the team. Gone are days when Sachin was in Limelight and we respected him. If he can’t suit himself to the current situation and play, ask him to getlost. He can’t still be sleeping on the same recognition that he got a while ago. Ask him not to play like he is playing for ROYALTY OR CHARITY business

Sachin’s and saurav’s inclusion in the next test team has to be questioned.

This is a humiliating loss for the indian team. Very bad strategy by Rahul Dravid. He shud hv sent Sourav Ganguly to open with Virender Sehwag so tht he could stay away from the new ball and give us stability in the middle order.
Very defensive approach in the field by him too. If we loose even 1 TEST against England then he shud be sacked from captaincy.

it’s probably a blessing in disguise : i hope everybody realizes now that sachin and saurav are past and offer no value to the team at all.
our so-called strong (test) batting line-up consists of only sehwag & dravid, with vvs chipping in once in a while...so when they fail, we lose.
saurav should never have been recalled & sachin, in his "comeback" season has performed once in 9 test innings and twice in 11 odi innings...

Subject: Spinless Batting Display!
I wouldn’t make much of pakistan going on to make 245 in their first innings, the onus was on our batsmen to atleast get in a decent lead of even 50 runs. On this pitch , it would have been more of a psychological advantage rather than anything else.
After being bowled out for 238, it was like looking down the barrel once again. We cannot blame the bowlers because its the same bunch who managed to get pakistan out twice on unresponsive tracks at Lahore and Faislabad. Try as we may ,we have to accept that the pakistanis combined as a team and when they had their backs to the wall responded superbly to the pressure. They thoroughly deserve this win. No doubt our expectations of a series win the second time round had been aroused by the fact that we had won in 2004. But lest we forget ,that was the first series win by any Indian Team on Pakistani soil. Let’s try and grab the ODI series.

This series has indeed exposed the chinks in the Indian Batting Line Up. SEHWAG - Do we see a problem with the temperament ? Its miles before anyone should compare him with Sir Viv Richards. DRAVID - Fair Show. LAXMAN - Promised much. Delivered little. TENDULKAR - The abominable thoughts have become repeated whispers.Soon it will become a loud shout - "The Opera is in its final act". Its heartless, its painful. But its a fact. GANGULY- Brave heart. Yet didn’t do enough. YUVRAJ- Maturity ??? Where art thee? DHONI - Fair. PATHAN - Allrounder alright ! Batting or Bowling....time to choose.Just not fast enough. HARBHAJAN - Exposed to the utmost. KUMBLE - Is it over? I dont want to believe this. RP - Genuine prospect .

Subject: No bowlers = No Test wins
Until we have bowlers who can make the ball move atleast 1/4th of an inch ,we can only dream of winning test matches. The moment the pitch loses its grass , our bowlers look like school boys with fast bowlers bowling at a deadly 120 kmph & our semi spinner Anil Kumble spending half of the match with hands on his hips .. We are turning into the SL team of mid 90s when they knew they could not bowl a team out twice so they made the batsman do all the hard work n draw the match .. god help team india !!

Subject: Enough of Stringent Stupidity
Hi,
I think the coach and captain of Indian cricket team needs to introspect. Greg must go, his sole agenda was to win the battle with India’s most successful captain and not with Pak, he better go and try his luck in politics in Australia. His stringency regarding throwing our Ganguly looks beyond tolerance now. Better kick him out before he spoils the cricket in India. Also dump Kiran More out for his negative (stupid) roles in team selection.
Rahul also needs to see how he managed to score 3 and 2 in the 2 innings. Seems the ’WALL’ is very good to resist some cool breeze and not the storms. He better be replaced as captain, there are lot of options available. I still feel Saurav can do that job better than him, if he (saurav) regains his form, which he has done already. Else we can think of Shewag, he was far more positive in Rahul’s absence.
Finally, is there any chance to see if we can get some real ’FAST’ bowlers? In a country with 1 Billion populations, is that too impossible?
Very soon, when England will visit India, we will show our supremacy on the turning pitches, we will all forget this performance, but the world cup venue is somewhere else!

It is same for Indian captain that inspite of Pakistan\’s early set back in the first innings Indian captain could not utilise it. In the second innings also Indian bowlers could not dominate with the ball. Moreover baring Sourov and Yuvraj none of them could score more than 30 runs. Chappel is more worried to keep away Sourov from the team rather than imposing a win against Pakistan. His revangeful attitude can cost a lot for the Indian Team.It is high time that BCCI should intervine to sort it out.

An all too familier outcome when there is some juice in the wicket. I think it is high time that some of the so called \"Greats\" like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly make way to the youngsters like Yuvaraj singh and other promising players like Mohammed Kaif who score when it matters most. The formidable batting line up just fell like a pack of cards. Yet another insipid display by our batsmen after some excellent bowling performance. Full credit to Pakistan.

Subject: chappell & rahul made mistake by experimenting on the crucial match
It has proved that our BCCI’s decision of taking Greg chappell as our coach was a blunder. and it proved tha pak associations deision of taking Boob woolmer is right. We should take to maintain the string of the team for a while atleast upto the point where everyone should believe that this coach is protect if they played well as our former coach has done, where here he has been very keen to expell sourav ganguly who had got control over the team bcause of the captaincy which he carried over the last few years. there itself the board should be with the sourav, see he expelled after winning a series in the foreign soil not after a defeat. There itself chappell has showed that he will be the supreme power. The cricket as i understood not a place to show the supremacy of the power rather that is a place to show companionship to the players so that there should be no egos between the players and the coach. Then india should not open the second innings with dravid & laxman atleast in the second innings. In the first innings saourav has shown that he has getting the balls on the bat in the first innings so the right compination to open the innings was with viru and sourav BCCi has to interpret

Subject: So called Star Batsmen !!!
Before the series, Ganguly was axed off in the home series against Sri Lanka because of non-performance (???). No place for Ganguly also in the test side was the team management and board selectors’ thought process because of his ability to play the fast bowling. But, I find it funny when the same can’t be said against Sehwag & Tendulkar. When Sehwag scored a double century on a dead pitch, he was applauded (while Ganguly didn’t have opportunity); but both Tendulkar & Sehwag failed against the Pakistan bowling in the next innings while Ganguly scored valuable runs (though not upto the mark) before making one mistake to get out in 30’s. But, since he is not Sehwag or Tendulkar, his 30’s are poorer than their single digit & 20’s, respectively. One thing is sure, that, to treat Ganguly like this by the management will not give proper sleep to the selectors or even to Greg Chappel.

Its high time Rahul gives up captaincy and concentrates on his batting. Scoring 100+ on dead pitches does not make a batsman out of Rahul. A bit of green and look how the top order crumbled. Even Sehwag and Sachin should have an introspection. Winning on tailor made pitches in home soil just will not do.
