The level of dicourse on Chowk gets dirtier by the day. The kind of language used on some of the threads is disappointing. Probably, disappointment is too mild a word to capture the true feelings evoked by the nonsense that has become a way of life on this site.

This is not to say that things were hunky-dory in the past. More often than not, every thread used to break into the never-ending themes of Hindu-Muslim, Indo-Pak etc. But now the dumbing down has taken never-heard-before dimensions. The antagonism hitherto expressed in damning newspaper clippings has slipped into use of such foul language that would put an illiterate ricksaw-puller to shame. To think that most of these people are double degree holders and supposedly doing important things in life, is disconcerting.

Despite their mealy-mouthed proclamations, uttered more often than not, the people who run this website just don’t care. Or judging from the quality of ’articles’ they write, probably they presume that more interacts is more popularity. There is no cure for brain-death!
