At a conference today, someone asked me to compare corruption in China and India. I told him to comeby after the talk and I wil explain.
You see, the only difference in corruption within these two emerging giants is as follows:
In china, you know who to pay off. In India it takes you twice as long as to find the right person to pay off. In china when you land off the plane, before you visit your business counterpart, you need to go see the local party boss or his representative (a visit arranged for you by "Agent" you hire to provide you with such fantastic inroads. In India the agents are useless. It is trial and error. It is changing ofcourse...but always work with the devil you know.
