Brailvi, Deobandi, Shafai, Malaki, Shias: Why create divisions?

Posted: Apr 16, 2006 Sun 09:39 am     Views: 191

I would like to express my regrets on some interactors that I hold in highest regard to very carelessly equate Deobandi school of thought with Al Qaidah and Wahabism.

I am utterly disappointed to see that the Pakistanis are themselves opting to fall into the trap that has been laid by the powers that be to divide the Muslims.

While as a Deobandi, I am totally against pompous overly gaudy showing of respect for our Holy Prophet (saww) through participating in Milads and Jalsas, I am also of the view that no one can question Deobandis on their love for the Holy Prophet and the fellow humans.

As a Deobandi, I am totally against holding Milads and Jalsas for this means showing off, becoming ascetic (spelling?), and leaving the destination to the “5th Element” whereas the need of the time is to get our new generation educated enough to take destiny in their own hands.

On a political front, I would like to proudly state that it was Deobandi religious parties in the NWFP and Pashtoon belt of Balochistan, who resoundingly defeated the communists, nationalists and secessionists forces in those areas in all the elections held to date.

If you corner Deobandis in Pakhtoon belt and try to marginalize them, pro-India/Afghanistan’s northern alliance forces will get stronger.

In my last paragraph there is a subliminal message for all those Deobandi haters who, without any doubt in my mind, are patriots.

Please take care. We, as Pakistanis and Muslims, cannot afford divisions.

Humbly submitted,
