Chain Reaction of a PC Upgrade

Posted: May 19, 2006 Fri 02:26 am     Views: 109

It was an HP Pavilion, with a 2.4GHz processor, 1GB memory and 128 MB graphics card. But then the onboard sound card was not good enough for games and movies, so an Audigy 2 was plugged in. But then Doom 3 wouldn’t work on that graphics card and it didn’t have HDTV output, so a GeForce FX5950 Ultra was plugged in. But then the Audigy 2 wasn’t professional enough for music work, so an Edirol FA-101 was plugged in. But then, complex Reason arrangements required more memory, so memory was upgraded to 2GB. But then 250GB disk space felt too low for audio production and music library, so another 250GB hard disk was added. But then the CD writer was not good enough for backups, so a DVD writer was added. But then the LCD monitor was only giving 1024x768 resolution, so it was upgraded to one which could give 1280x1024 resolution. But then it was already plugged in with the HDTV as well, so the machine was upgraded to Media Center 2005. But then the Media Center remote control was missing, so that was plugged in. But then there wasn’t a TV tuner card in there, so a dual TV tuner was plugged in. But then the processor felt too slow, so it was upgraded to a 3.4GHz processor. But then the 250W power supply wasn’t good enough to handle all that, so it was upgraded to a 500W power supply. But now the overall system is already outdated…
