President Bush and Vietnam

Posted: Nov 22, 2006 Wed 03:23 am     Views: 132

When asked on his recent trip to Vietnam about what was the main lesson America learned from Vietnam, Bush responded "Never quit". In other words, he was telling his Vietnamese hosts that America should have continued to fight and kill them. As clueless a person as he is, in the next breath he was congratulating Vietnamese for having made astounding progress since the end of the war!

For him to suggest that "Never quit" was the main lesson of Vietnam war would have been fine had he himself not taken active steps and tricks to avoid serving in that war where 58,000 other americans persihed. For him to say now that America should have continued fighting a war, which he himself actively avoided, is the height of hypocrisy and cowardice! And for American media to not take Bush to task over this shows how the once proudly independent american media has completely collapsed in the face of increasingly powerful extremist elements in american society.

Lucky for millions of Vietnamese and Americans that US did finally quit, or else tens of thousands of more human beings would have perished. But of course it would not have mattered to Bush, for he at that time was boozing his way through his youth.
