Take a Moment

I felt blessed, truly blessed...to be surrounded by family members (who have become friends) and friends (who have become family). 20 in all, we sat for a dinner to ring in the new year, and each and everyone was as comfortable with each other as they are with themselves. Memories were evoked, episodes recanted for bygone escapades, plans hatched for trips to take the coming year. No one was at the same seat at end of the dinner, as they had started. Toasts were made to loves, accomlishments, continued involvement in each others lives.

As I write this, perhaps only to edify it somewhere...to look back at it on Jan.1.2008, and consider how possibly could it get any better....but if the past few years are any indication..I am sure it will.
