Finally saw the movie "Blood Diamond". I am not sure what was the purpose of this movie and it was a bit of a surprise to see that the movie did not mention the involvement of United Nations’ peackeepers in the illegal diamond trade. If there was a point to this film, it seemed to be lost in all the moral sermonizing in the movie.
In the end, the movie asked the viewer to ask whether a diamond was illegal or legal before buying it.
What difference will it make to the person who wants to buy a diamond and secondly; once a diamond is available on the market, its legality will matter less than its price.
