KiranNY, since everyone is bombarding you with advice, I will not burden you with more pointers, I mean, who knows what the truth is? He’s out of your life and that is what’s important! However, I do suggest, that if the Jerk-wad calls back, pretend like you’ve lost your memory. He’s got cancer, you amnesia, it’s only fair!

Sarah1983, awww, your guy is a special case. He seems to be schizo, multiple, manic, and all the other various disorders combined. He has to be, to leave you. He’s a doctor that is in desperate need of a shrink, kind of a downgrade, if you ask me. I like the fact that you can openly talk about the desi taboo, smoking.
