Occam’s Razor

The razor is Occam’s Razor. The sword is the Saudi flag. Bukhari said in Hadith that ""Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords." The flag depicts a sword with the shahada ("There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah") inscribed above it.

Our everyday language is seasoned with allusions to cutlery. People make cutting remarks to cut someone down. We parry, as in fencing, with a well composed objection during debates, and our adversary says "touché!" Prices are slashed. Clever students are described as sharp.

Jesus tells his apostle to put away the sword. Mt 26:52 "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

Occam’s razor states that something is most eloquently proven by the barest minimum of assertions necessary.

So, is the sword necessary? Or do we cut it away with Occam’s razor. Whichever our choice, we shall not escape the blade.
