shot and done

Posted: Aug 10, 2007 Fri 05:54 am     Views: 154    Interacts: 1

Just got done with this corporate shoot. Met all these investment banker type of people. They all had limp handshakes. Wonder what that means...

Limp handshakes = bad.

Anyway. They served some really icky tea too. Had to drink it. Also had to eat one cookie that didn't taste too good. The shoot itself was interesting. I've never really hung out in an upscale office. Wood paneling, famous-artists' paintings, kashmiri carpets and stuff like that. This place was seriously upscale; but in a good, warm way. Had great natural light too. One room of theirs must have cost more than this entire office of ours did.. Hrm. But they didn't have great couches. Not like we do either. *shrug*

The guy with the limpest handshake asked if I was a photographer too. Told him, in this specific case, I wasn't. There was someone famous to take the pictures today. I didn't feel like talking to Limpest Handshake Guy. He was desperate to come across as intensely Wall Street-ish. He was successfully failing.

Famous photographer and I were making plans to eat 'aloo kay parathas' throughout the shoot. We talked about our respective flooded basements at home. And then we were having our bitchy, fun moments as we noticed how pretentious some of the subjects were. Everyone had an accent by the way. That was intriguing. All of them had these confused Brit-American accents. Wonder why. At the most, they must have spent a few years 'abroad' at college and maybe a couple of years working there but that doesn't alter your accent. But it had altered theirs. Strange huh?

It was over fast. We were quick. Made them smile. Made them put their chins down and look into the lens. Made them look into space. And snapped away. I'm sure the results will be kick ass. Won't know before tomorrow though...we didn't shoot in digital.

Now I'm thinking of heading out early. It's getting dark already...which means...it's going to come down heavy again. *sigh* Have Eurythmics on right now...been so long since I heard this stuff...maybe I'll hang around for a while..stare at the DARK clouds..think some useless things..

How come I don't get any 3am calls where I'm told I win? Tch. I also want a 3am 'you win' phonecall.
