Are brownie points worth anything?

Posted: Sep 22, 2007 Sat 08:50 pm     Views: 237    Interacts: 2

What is my worth? I was thinking to myself. Couldn’t find an answer; or rather, I was scared to know the truth. Then, without even realizing, I started thinking loud. I was reminded by a well-wisher about all that I have achieved, materially, and otherwise; everything that I should be proud of.
But what if all that I have achieved is due to merely a mix of good fortune and blessings? What if all the good that I have done is just a selfish act of gaining brownie points from self, from God, and from others? Then, I may be worth nothing.
How can one ever know one’s own worth?

Its what you leave behind that counts. Your worth is the impact that your actions have on others lives.
