The aimless routines

Forgotten they have,
The ways of governance
In disarray, our institutions
Broken and hollow
In pursuit of policies
Aimless and no results
The promise of change
In those sixty years
In abundance, the resources
But it’s not us, the people
The recipients

Followed they have,
The aimless ideologies
The age of experimentation
Upon us and its clouds
Dark and sorrowful
Bring in they rules
Forsaken, the language
Of disarray and sword
Through discarded methods
Of history and present
In practise, for me and you
The people of this country

Still being discussed
The issues and ethics
The women and education
Still being examined, the norms
And our culture, how long we need
There is no consensus, on reforms
Of change, just discussion
No action and will to resolve
Only in remains, only that stays
The beauty of agreeing to disagree

There are no words of wisdom
But only of failure, an attempt to
Replicate and plagiarise
The others have discarded
In deterioration our social fabric
The moths of corruption at work
What are those that deliver?
The incapable routines of life
The distribution of wealth
In tatters, in absence

The world watches,
The so called independent observers
The governments and analysts
The ones to the tilted
Between left and right
The so called values
Of democracy and freedom
The ragged clothes, the cracks
In faces - visible and silent

How long will we carry on?
With misguided conceptions
Forged alliances and deals
No one to admit, or to appreciate
The failures of their times
Talk of accountability and integrity

The nation and its fortunes
Once again being examined
With attitudes and opportunities
Distorted and motionless
Political awareness and slogans
The rallies of need, the hour of change
Still far away, still too distant
The aimless routines,
In presence, upon us
To agree to disagree!
