Ecological formula

Ecological formula (continued from 24 October 007The Changing lifestyles)
Chemicals are used to control pests everywhere. In the ‘’ecological (the driver from upcountry meant this in his own way, after all he is urdu Newspaper smart, and they do have the latest science news!Yay for translation)formula, birds and insects eat pests, so let them!We kill birds so that trees are without song, we kill insects so that radio plays are without their sound effects;and when the pests increased in number, they ran to bring the pesticides to kill them.
Someone mentioned, the people trying to return to organic farming, after getting hurt by the other modern ways of farming which they were adoptive of, after kicking out the natural organic farming! In the first place. They will have to make a very expensive U turn in order to get back there. And organic farming asking to be close to nature is going to cost them a lot,in these times. Because getting close to nature, demands that we obey Dame nature. Everything has to be done according to nature’ s pace, fast when she wants fast, slow when she wants slow. But here we are wanting to bend all rules, break every speed barrier to suit our demands. It certainly will not be easy to go back. The soil suffers from overdose of pollutants plus chemical nutrients. It is addicted. And like any other drug addict it will ask for more and more chemical nutrients and will produce less and less effective crop per successive dose. No sir! organic farming will take a long and difficult time to return to. Meanwhile well in time,we will have to give the responsibility to the Anti-narcotics control department to wean it off!!When in other countries they find a product fit for refutation and rejection they at once comply, and here we take the same rejected product and use it for food or medicine and suffer its morbidity without protest. Plants and crops, we have not left animal life alone too!The poultry-they are given such abnormally potent diets,it seems almost vulgar;some are rumoured to put hormones in the chicken feeds. The poor chicks, ‘’these were their playing and jumping’’ days, and look what is happening to them. They all become dinosaurs, giants and giraffes, whatnot in a few weeks time-all for Kfc and Mcdonalds burger buns! This pace offends nature, no wonder the birds are struck down again and again by viral attacks!!They have growth but no immunity. They are not grown in natural surroundings, of course they are grown in very neat and clean surroundings, very hygienic from community health point of view-but they have no natural surroundings, no natural immunity. It looks a very modern and clean, prison, with each fat chicken pecking at wonder grains from its small cell.(to be continued)
