You know how it goes some nights
you wife tells you -
no dear, I've headache, not tonight
My redhead Irish wife with blue eyes
told me just like this last night
and we kissed goodnight
I dreamed I was among the redwoods
all tall and elegant reaching the skies
I was walking under lush green canopy
I saw my wife turned into many
standing near each redwood
her hair turning red to green to red
As I leaned against one redwood
they all leaned against theirs
and as I moved they moved similarly
I told her I loved her
they all told me they loved me
and the redwoods shook in agreements
as if they too loved me and I loved them
My wives, trees and I felt as one
all united together in consonance
resonating together each instance
Strange connections
my wives and I
and the trees
I woke up hearing my wife snoring
her mouth open, hair curled on her face
I kissed her good night once again
