Sitara by Manto

Today I read "sitara" from Manto's book Loud Speaker. I was wondering if it's a true story ? I enjoyed reading it a lot, especially MANTO'S STYLE IN WHICH HE NARRATES THE STORY AS AN INNOCENT FRIEND:)
Though i disagree to him at the conclusion of the deteriorating health aspects of siataras subjects:) but still its interesting.Could someone please let me know if this all really happened?

dont ever fall into that trap of wondering if all that this guy wrote truly happened...

he's capable of making it all sound true. realistic...

happy reading!
