Exasperated, I started a thread about McCain's 10 point
gain in the polls against Obama. Here is the link to my
initial thread:

Teja_Seth responded to my post and here is my rejoinder:
"Wrong! Kerry at one point looked very good against bush and
guess who won.
"An AP-Ipsos poll taken in late February had Obama leading McCain 51-41 percent. The current survey, conducted April 7-9, had them at 45 percent each. McCain leads Obama among men, whites, Southerners, married women and independents.
Clinton led McCain, 48-43 percent, in February. The latest survey showed the New York senator with 48 percent support to McCain's 45 percent. Factoring in the poll's margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, Clinton and McCain are statistically tied."

Two months ago when Obama was leading McCain by 10 points,
the survey was credible but not in April?

Neither rabid Democrats nor rabid republicans are going to vote for the other team. The real fight is for the folks in the middle, and they are turning overwhelmingly towards democrats."
I don't know who you're kidding with this but I am staying
home if Hillary is the nominee.

As far as extended primary battle is concerned, it is a VERY good thing. Both campaigns are having to fight it out in the states where Democrats never had a chance and which the Dems mostly gave up even before the election started. Now both Hillary and Obama have solid ground operations in states like NC, SC, VA (watch out for VA to turn blue in 2008, btw)."
You can argue both ways whether it's a "VERY good thing"
or not. Hillary campaign didn't expect the primaries to
extend beyond Feb. Obama's ground game is much better
than Billary's but team Billary has NO CHANCE in the
battle ground states.

Longer the primary lasts, more visible Dem candidates become and while McCain makes gaffe after gaffe, Obama looks more presidential with each passing day."
McCain, despite his gaffes, is doing just fine. Obama
looking presidential has NO IMPACT on the outcome
of the presidential election. Anybody looks better than
the bonobo Bush and he won the second term too.
What bothers me about Dems, and I am a registered/
contributing Dem, is thier blind nerdy optimism over
everything in life. Republicans, regardless of how
nasty, are effective and play to win. Repubs knew that
Bush '43 was a bonobo but they rallied behind him
and got him elected TWICE. While Dems are busy
squabbling, McCain is gaining ground and it's significant.
