cricket

The management at our organisation have decided to celebrate the ongoing week as a sports week. An inter departmental cricket tournament is part of the sports week which is going to be inaugurated today. We are going to play our first match tomorrow with all the aches our bodies are feeling courtesy the stiffness from the last three days' practice. It has been a long time since I last played some sorts of competitive cricket; some three years to be precise. After that life has been so dull, so busy and so immersed in the professional acitivities that I almost forgot to be in a physical contact with one of my childhood love; the game of cricket.
After that long layoff from the game, the signals I got from my batting practice were mixed, if not totally disappointing. There was a first ball duck but there were occasional cover and straighed drives as well. All in all, most of the participating players are rusty. Let's see what happens on the given day!

Showbig, cricket is an extension of the game of gulli danda ... we used to play the latter in the good old days in our youth when cricket wasn't that known ...
