Discovering my inner feudal

I was with friends,having my post-dinner fog cutter,trying to negotiate the cobwebs in my mind and cap off a blissfully lackadaisical evening.I spread my legs on the empty chair in front of me and mumble to no one in particular-
"tu kisi aur kii jagir hai o jane ghazal..
log toofan.."
Even before I had completed the first line,she shot back, rolling eyes an all-
"What a feudal metaphor!"
Wtf!Why had it NEVER occurred to me?
It almost ruined my evening,as in it made me think.
I could recall several other instances.Sahir says..
"tere jalve kisii zaradaar kii miiraas sahii
tere Khaake bhii mere paas nahii.n rah sakate"
But it had never made me think!I must have internalized this idiom,from as long back as I can remember.

Come to think of it,isn't ishq itself a feudal emotion?
