main, asha...

that was the play put up by my group - a bunch of 15 youth. while thier peers chose to watch cricket throughout the vacation period...

they did well. they sang horribly though! there were about 30 people to watch them at it. and i am as usual thier biggest fan and worst critic...

liked what we have collectively put together. an effort in participatory theatre. an effort to dialouge with people.

post performance, the group were bombarded with questions. they struggled hard to maintain composure, to look non-agitated, refrain from answering back, to be polite... and succeeded to a great extent.

they are all unhappy, troubled and confused by thier performance. they felt that they need more time to talk, discuss and work on both - form and content. and it was especially good the way, the performance created a debate amongst the group themselves.

tito says what is important, the performance or the discussion? our play has to be damdaar, only then our discussion will be good...

the group is ruffled and got a huge kick out of this experience. they feel that they need to work more, read more, know more, understand more...

and tell you what... that makes me happy!!!

just what i wanted...

though, i do wish those young hearts to feel the thrill of a touching debate.

we will work towards it.
