Chowk Editors: Please Publish MASADI

Posted: Jul 17, 2008 Thu 07:25 am     Views: 160    Interacts: 6

MASADI is a published author whose work has been endorsed by Gore Vidal. He writes well thought out material that offers an alternate point of view than that which one reads in the mainstream media.

He is well written, eloquent, relevant, and more importantly, he writes material that provokes the reader intellectually. These are the very attributes that Chowk appears to value in authors.

So PLEASE PUBLISH MASADI.

Here is the list of articles that he has submitted to Chowk over the past year, that have not been published:

Viqar sahib,

I concur with you 100%. In fact, I've written chowk editors (see the letter in my iLog), which explains some of these discrepancies to them.

Who owns Chowk, and what is its policy about publication of articles, banning posters, etc? IMHO, a theoretical argument can be made for his (Masadi's) occasional banning on account of his abusive behavior. But then, there are many other posters who are, in one way or another, just as abusive; yet I have not seen them banned or, at least, not with such energy and frequency as Masadi.

All this goes to show that such decision making at Chowk is entirely arbitrary, and the right of a select few who remain unknown. It is worse than the high handedness that one sees in the running of affairs by the various govts in Pakistan where constitution, institutions and policies are routinely trampled upon by the "elite of the day" establishment. Yet, even in Pakistan, the "elite of the day" is neither invisible nor unknown; at Chowk they are.
Chowk, it seems, is run by some kind of a secret society.

Still, while a lame argument for occasional banning can, at least, be made, there is no basis whatsoever for denying publication of material which is within guidelines and norms of decency.

Denial of publication must be fully decoupled from the policy of banning a poster on, say, FP.

Frankly, I am appalled that people, whoever the hell they are, can get away with such high handedness. This matter ought to be reported to the ACLU and Chowk taken to court to enfoce fair-handed policies.

That fag Nadeem Piracha makes me cringe....and so many of these other psuedo left wing for show assholes who have no relation to reality on the ground and write bullshit about Pakistan and a marginal Pakistani society.

This kind of intrigues me. Does Masadi not have his own blog/website. These days it is no brainer. If he already have, can someone not give the link here.
I did google and amazon - other than chowk it shows other masadi's.
