That Ghazal - - -

Posted: Jul 26, 2008 Sat 12:22 pm     Views: 104

When i get after something i want it. There was an old ghazal sung by Salma Agha that i wanted to listen. Yeah yeah the same Salma Agha who used to do nasal singing and shiny make up, glossy lipsticks and wore fancy saris. The situation is that i don’t remember the lyrics or anything. It has those words “sar-i-bazaar aa gaye” something. PTV used to play it in the morning transmission.

I tried looking it but in vain. While looking for her ghazal i came across this…

Iss ko dekh ker meri aankhon main dard ho gaya --- ---- --- the print is that awesome. Though the movie released in 1984. and thanks to the print all the time while watching, i thought the heroin is salma agha… in the end when i closely looked she was someone else. Singing in the mountains, hiding from the hero who is restlessly trying to find her. Huh! The hero is none other than Javed Sheikh. Someone once said i don’t like his “boothar”, sounded like a curse word tentatively i asked what is ‘boothar’ the person said “thobra” Ahem! No comments on that!

If you happen to click and play this video check out what’s on her forehead. i dislike this band --- it looks ugly and was in vogue in late 70s and 80s. Her garish make up--- and her shimmering cheeks… hehehehehehe! Trends do change--- but in Pak movies nothing changes. i feel they still do the same sorta make up.
