the windbags on unplugged...

yap yap yap yap

bicker bicker

backstab backstab

bitch and moan

that's all some negative entities ever do (as they will in response to this thread)...

when will chowkies ever do anything?

OUR COUNTRY IS BEING EATEN ALIVE BY FUNDAMENTALISTS....HELLO??? IS ANYONE AWAKE???

Pakistanis in Pakistan are trying to survive the harsh economic times...and then the army unleashes the fundoos on them. For God's sake

The crimes against women are on an incredible high. These girls that they are systematically destroying, these girls are our future. They take out girls from schools for 5 or 10 years, and we've lost a generation...and the children of these girls will suffer too.

These aholes are planting cancers into our society...how come we can do NOTHING about it?

and how can aholes defend these aholes??

re-building schools is stupid as fuk too cause they will just bomb them again...somebody's gotta get rid of the root problem....

okay...I think I've ranted enough and have begun to detract from the message.

I feel angry and powerless.

sorry read 'brainwashing' as 'brainstorming' in the 2nd last line. Thanks

I would partly agree to that.

Ain’t these the lower (deprived and un educated) classes that get exploited the most by different outfits? Middle class brainwash theory might explain some or most of it but isn’t the starvation and big economic imparity one of the major underlying root causes?

Having said that and agreeing to the fact that we are ourselves to be blamed for all the big $hit we have landed into, your basic argument leaves room for brainwashing

How do we clean that mess and get out of it ? Where do we start ?

Delirium,

thanks for the thoughtful comment.

I am beginning to suspect that the root cause lies in the middle class. It is no co-incidence that as the middle class became more "born again" muslim, the taliban started gaining hold. The new mullah raves and rants on TV, he wears suits and is clean shaven. The women have started wearing abayas and holding dars mehfils instead of just getting together like they used to.

The middle class has become the "haram this halal that" class...and the middle class has brought this pox upon our home.

The Military bought the talibs, fed them, nurtured them, and eventually when the environment was right, unleashed them. But without the complacency, and complicity of the middle class, this could not have happened.

We are to blame.

You feel angry and powerless as most of us do. But isn't it a good starting point? There is a realization. An urge to do something. That's where a debate or a thought process starts and hopefully leads to something good.

Rebuilding those schools won't help. They would be burnt to the ashes again. Its the mindset that needs to be changed and across all cross-sections of the society.

The question is how and where do we start ? How about analyzing and fixing our own faults at an individual level first of all? At the same time keep looking for some collective strategies and actions to counter the situation ?

Thanks for initiating such a good debate.
