and thus Lao Tsze spoke ...(for akcheema & other logicians)

Posted: Mar 6, 2009 Fri 04:56 pm     Views: 273

The questions akcheema raises in his ilog '...anyone wonders?' are the questions that popped up in my mind when I was a rebellious teenager. They stayed with me for over 30 years - in my pursuit for truth.

And then one day I was reading Dante in a library, when
Lao Tsze appeared on the seat next to me, and said,

"He who knows IT, tells it not : he who tells
it, knows it not."

He said it not with words, but with light. He continued,

"withdraw not to the heights of the mind, but take possession of the whole soul."

"To him who holds in his hands the Great Image THE MYSTICAL ABSOLUTE the whole world repairs. Men resort to him, and receive no hurt, but find rest, peace, and the feeling of ease."

"That is with your own Quran. Once you understand this, you will understand Buddha's Lotus, Upanishad's Om, Mohammad's Quir'a."

"Music and dainties will make the passing guest stop
for a time. But though the Tao as it comes from the
mouth, seems insipid and has no flavour, though it seems
not worth being looked at or listened to, the use of it is
inexhaustible"

"Measure not with words; The Immeasurable;
Nor sink the string of thought; Into the Fathomless.
Who asks doth err,
Who answers, errs.
Say nought!"

I dazed into unconsciousness. The libarary PA annoucement of its closing brought me back to consciouness. Rest is history, as they say.

My words for all truth seekers who are blinded with logic: Fight not dogma with dogma. The reality shows its glimpse through paradox - and for our earthly- relativity-stricken mind, only through paradox.

When you fight dogma with a dogma, you sound no wiser than a traditional village moulvi. You shed not the skin of arrested development - to grow up, to rise above and look beyond.
Wishing you best,
